Educational Only
The Veteran Benefit Desk, operated by Aurelis LLC, provides educational information about VA disability benefits. We are not affiliated with VA or the U.S. government. We are not a law firm. We are not a VSO. We are not a VA-accredited attorney or claims agent. No one on our editorial staff is accredited under 38 C.F.R. section 14.629 to represent claimants before the Department of Veterans Affairs.
What We Do Not Do
Under 38 C.F.R. section 14.629, only individuals accredited by VA may assist claimants in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for VA benefits. The Veteran Benefit Desk does not do, and will never offer to do, any of the following:
- Prepare, draft, or write VA claims, supplemental claims, appeals, statements, or nexus letters for any individual claimant.
- Tell a specific claimant which condition to file, which secondary connection to pursue, or which evidence to submit in their case.
- Review a specific veteran's denial letter, claims file, rating decision, or medical records and tell them what to do next.
- Charge a fee, accept a contingency, or solicit payment in exchange for any action on a specific claim or an improvement in a specific rating.
- Provide an individualized appeals strategy, theory of the case, or filing roadmap for any specific veteran.
- Represent any veteran or survivor before VA, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, or any court.
This is the legal scope of who we are. Crossing any of these lines without VA accreditation would be unauthorized under 38 C.F.R. section 14.629 and 38 U.S.C. section 5904.
What We Do
We publish educational articles, rating-schedule references (38 C.F.R. Part 4), calculators that use the public rate tables, and links to source documents. We label our editorial team, cite our sources, and update content when VA updates its regulations. Our calculators work the same way for every visitor.
Estimates Only
Calculators provide estimates based on the public VA rate tables and the inputs you enter. Real outcomes depend on the official record and VA decisions. Figures shown on this site are not promises and are not guarantees.
No Medical, Legal, or Financial Advice
Articles and condition pages describe the kinds of evidence VA may consider when rating a condition. They do not diagnose any condition and do not tell any specific veteran what evidence proves their case. Nothing on the site is legal advice, claims-representation advice, medical advice, or financial advice. For diagnosis or treatment, talk with a licensed medical professional.
Sponsored Placements
Some listings are paid placements and are labeled as sponsored. A paid placement is not an endorsement. See the Advertising Disclosure and Sponsor Disclosure.
Talk With an Accredited Representative
For case-specific help with a VA claim, talk with a VA-accredited attorney, VA-accredited claims agent, or VSO representative. Accreditation is verifiable at the VA Office of General Counsel.
