Knee and jointevidence checklist.

Joints can carry separate ratings for limited motion and instability at the same time. The exam measures motion with a goniometer; your evidence covers flare ups and function.

See all evidence checklists
  • Current diagnosis and imaging reports (X-ray, MRI)
  • The in service injury, surgery, or duty pattern (airborne, infantry, mechanics)
  • Giving way, buckling, or locking episodes, with examples and dates if possible
  • Brace, sleeve, cane, or other device use
  • Flare ups: frequency, duration, and what they prevent
  • Painful motion: where in the arc pain starts
  • Swelling, grinding, or popping
  • Surgery history and residuals, including scars
  • Work and recreation impact: stairs, kneeling, lifting, running
  • Whether the other side now hurts from compensating (worth its own documentation)
